Found a great Safari extension, ScribeFire.

"ScribeFire is a full-featured blog editor that integrates with Safari and lets you easily post to all of your blogs." From Safari I can post to Posterous which feeds my Twitter, Tumblr and blog. Early days but working nicely so far.

Sounds interesting - any more info please?? I clicked on the linky but didn't feel any the wiser. How does it make life easier?

Sorry for the delay in commenting, Roughseas. Wanted to try loading photos through ScribeFire before writing. Finally got to it and succeeded. Not too hard. Just add the photo's URL and there ya go. You can see the example with biscotti photo. Actually find it easier than creating on Posterous and Blogger. So far. You can publish privately to test how it posts. That's what I was doing to make sure things appeared acceptable. It is nice just to click on the extension in the tool bar and start writing. I certainly will be using it more and more. Hope this helps.
