Rainfall has been very heavy last several hours.

I worry about the small nearby beaver dam. Hope they remembered how to use their slide rules. The foam in the rain gutter has dampened the rain noise. That's good. The Sierra Nevada could receive another ten feet of snow. The snow pack is already double for this time of year.

Sea lion that flopped ashore euthanized - SFGate

A wayward sea lion captured a mile from water in the East Bay over the weekend was euthanized Tuesday after doctors determined it suffered from a disease that caused brain deterioration and made it impossible for the mammal to navigate.

The 5-year-old California sea lion, a female named Na'au by her caretakers at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, would not have survived long in the wild or in captivity, said Jim Oswald, communications director at the center.

"We can't send an animal into the wild and expect her to have a normal life knowing that she'd have seizures out there and die," Oswald said. "At the end of the day, it's all about making the difficult decisions and choosing a humane response."

Sad story. Necessary action.

"Gutenberg's Revolution left us with a world that was intellectually rich. Zuckerberg's portends one that is all thumbs and no brains." If Mr. Mark is our country's fav "genius?", we are in deep sh**.

"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." -Thomas Edison

Certainly sounds like Mr. Edison was talking about Traditional Chinses Medicine. The future is now.

Listening to "The Medicine Men" on KEST Radio and the discussion of dementia.

The use of statins increases the chance of developing dementia from
400% to 700%. The use of proton inhibitors, antacid medications,
increases the chances of dementia. Over use of sugar and artificial
sweeteners increase the possibility of dementia. Life style and diet
can do so much in preventing or reducing the chances of developing
this devastating disease.

"I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY"

I wish I knew who the author of this is but I don't. I am sending it to all who love animals and hope that you will do the same.

I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY

Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.

As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.

As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.

She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.

A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.

I rescued a human today.

Remember tomorrow is Saint Nicholas Day. Get your letters to Santa ready.

Remember to put your letter to Santa in your Christmas stocking. At night the elves come to your home, collect your letter and leave goodies in the stocking if you have been good or potatoes and coal if you have been bad. How else does Santa know what you want for Christmas and have time to get it ready?

Senate Bill 510 May Be the Most Dangerous Bill in the History of the US - Truth is Treason

The Food Safety Modernization Act will restrict our access to organically grown foods. It increases Monsanto's strangle hold on our country's food chain. This is a truly dangerous bill. This was discussed on Dr. Nieters' radio program today.
